Tomatoes frost protection in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe.

CropAid AntiFrost MAX saved my tomatoes, but my untreated lettuce was destroyed”

Transcript:

“I am farming in Kwekwe, 2 Hectares. Some farmers lost their crops but ours survived. I have weeds close to the crops I sprayed, but the weeds were not sprayed, so this weed was affected by the overnight cold temperatures.  With the AntiFrost MAX I am using; it’s helping save our crops, so they are not affected by frost. So even if you check the top of my tomato crop, they are flowering, despite frost usually hits the rue tops of the crop. As you can see with my crop, the tops are safe.”

“Then I have another portion here where I wanted to put more crops this winter using AntiFrost MAX. I used it last year in June, in Bulawayo. There is another portion where I had tomatoes. I ran out of AntiFrost MAX, so I could not spray the lettuce portion and so this portion got affected by frost and we lost the crop. However, on the same day the tomato crop survived. The crop here is the one that survived, while the lettuce crop is the one that perished. I am spraying it with AntiFrost MAX, which I advise you farmers to try so you don’t cry when your crop is destroyed by frost, because we have a lot of cold temperatures this year.”
