UK Nursery “Very Happy” With AntiFrost® Results

A renowned British nursery, established in 1990, known for its nurture of plants of varying origin from across the world used AntiFrost® on their Euphorbia mellifera, Geranium maderense, Zantedeschia aetheopica, and Clematis armadii to protect the plants from Spring Frost.

The Plants

• Euphorbia mellifera is a species of flowering plant known for its dark purple foliage and honey-scented flowers, native to the Canary Islands and Morocco. Euphorbia mellifera thrives in temperate climates and prefers mild to warm temperatures. It is tolerant of temperatures down to about -5 degrees Celsius (23 to 19 degrees Fahrenheit) but may suffer damage or die if exposed to prolonged freezing conditions below this threshold.
• Geranium maderense is a species of flowering plant commonly known as the Madeira cranesbill, native to the island of Madeira, Portugal. Geranium maderense thrives in mild to warm temperatures and has a threshold tolerance for cold around -2 to -3 degrees Celsius (28 to 27 degrees Fahrenheit).
• Zantedeschia aethiopica, commonly known as the calla lily, is a flowering plant native to southern Africa, prized for its elegant white flowers and lush foliage. Zantedeschia aethiopica thrives in temperatures ranging from 18 to 25 degrees Celsius (64 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit) and can tolerate light frosts down to approximately -2 to -5 degrees Celsius (28 to 23 degrees Fahrenheit) for short periods with protection, but prolonged exposure to cold temperatures can damage or kill the plant.
• Clematis armadii is a species of flowering vine native to China, prized for its delicate white flowers and evergreen foliage. Clematis armadii thrives in temperate climates and prefers mild to cool temperatures, with a threshold tolerance for cold down to about -10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit).

Results

The initial statement from the team prior to their completed report, goes as follows:

“We first used CropAid [AntiFrost®] last winter on Geranium maderense, Zantedeschia aetheopica, Euphorbia mellifera and the new growth on Clematis armandii. All [treated] plants were completely unaffected by the cold weather and frost. We were very pleased with the results.”

The team then goes on to say they had “excellent” results in the complete report.

They followed the user instructions as advised on the bottle. They made their first application on Feb 1st, and repeated applications around every 7 days until their last reported application on March 3rd. They applied the product to 90% of the crop, leaving 10% as the control.

They experienced frost and temperatures of -7°C, and reported “on plants that weren’t treated all new growth died“.

On the other hand, they reported that the treated crops sustained 0% damage, continuing further with the statement that “plants that were treated were fine. Very happy with results”.
