🍒 Highland Court Farm Cherry Report – 2007🍒

Sweet cherry yield and quality boost from CropAid AntiFrost.

Simon Foad, farm manager of Highland court farm made the following statements.

“This year (2007) in England, a lot of cherry growers lost 30-100% of
their crop due to poor weather and splitting due to excess rain.”

“Freshinfo.com reported large losses all over England, but
at the same time, we had a rather large crop at 7.27 tons per Hectare.”

“The cherries had less drop/run-off this year. Average size
was roughly 30mm. We did not do a comparison trial.”

“The brix level was 14%. There were not any frost issues to protect against.”

“As of 4th October 2007, the leaves on the cherry trees are still green.”

🌧️ 2007 – A Tough Year for English 🍒 Cherries.

Across England, cherry growers faced devastating losses — some of them up to 100% due to
poor weather, fruit drop, splitting from excess rain and floods.

The BBC reported widespread flooding in general, damage and
reduced yields on extreme amounts of crops, including cherries.

Despite a majority of cherry growers losing large amounts of their crops, Highland Court Farm achieved:

Yield: 7.27 tonnes per hectare

Fruit Size: ~30mm average

Brix Level: 14% – indicating excellent sweetness

Leaf Health: Trees still green as of October 4th, showing strong post-harvest vitality
